My husband and I just returned from vacationing in Europe. Everything was absolutely wonderful, except for the bathroom decor. We traveled through six different cities and none of our rooms took advantage of using a unique shower curtain in the bathrooms. Two of our hotels utilized some form of a glass shower door, and the remaining four hotels had what one could only describe as a shower closet – essentially a plastic-walled-off room, similar to a port-a-potty, that included a drain and shower head. These shower closets were clean and allowed for the job of cleaning one’s body to be done, however, the experience was all but enjoyable. The worse part is that everything else in each of these rooms was great – great view, great bed, great bedding and decor – and yet, this was all was forgotten when one took a look at the shower closet.

This is similar to the "shower closets" we used, although there would be a plastic swivel door at the entrance of the shower. When closed, this door just looked like another closet in the room. There was a separate door for the toilet and sink.
Because of this experience, I encourage – no implore – you to never use a shower closet in your bathroom. Instead allow your personality to be your master bedroom’s saving grace or to spark interest in your guest bathroom. A black and white shower curtain or double swag shower curtain are particularly our favorites for a master bath. As for a guest bathroom we recommend either a funky unique shower curtain – one with stripes, polka dots, or geometric shapes – a horse shower curtain, or a beach shower curtain. All of these are great options, clearly can establish your personal style and taste, and is hands down more refreshing than a shower closet.
