I recently got to spend some time in the home of an older couple I just met, and got to witness first-hand their eager joy in a newly painted bedroom, living room, and bathroom. I was sincerely surprised by their excitement over a simple repainting, and recognized quickly that they put a lot of effort into the appearance of their home, even simply for their own enjoyment. It reminded me of how connected people are to the places in which they dwell. I didn’t get a chance to see if they had personalized shower curtains in their bathrooms, but knowing them, they probably had something like one of these.
