It may sound ridiculous to some, but there are others out there who aren’t properly using their shower curtain and liner to their fullest potential. You can recognize these people by the smell when you walk into the bathroom, or by the water on the floor, post shower. If used correctly, your curtains can not only provide effective coverage, but also functional design to your bathroom. Here are some helpful tips.
1. Find a shower curtain that fits your personal style. There are many to choose from, so whether you go with fabric or plastic, what matters most is that you keep this one on the outside of the tub. Also, it shouldn’t touch the ground, so adjust your rod to the length of your curtain.
2. Invest in a shower curtain liner. This can coordinate with your curtain, be clear, solid or could even function as the curtain itself (For those with a claw foot or ceramic tub, this looks great). See Below picture for an example.

Regardless of your choice, make sure the liner goes on the inside of the tub. The point of this one is to catch the water, so keep it in the tub at all times.

4. When you are finished with your shower draw the curtains closed to let them dry more effectively. Also, keep the bathroom door open, and turn on the intake vent when you are finished with your shower to help dry any leftover moisture in the air and bathtub. The less moisture trapped on the curtains, the less likely mildew with develop.
With following these simple tips, you can use your shower curtain and liner to it’s fullest potential and keep your bathroom looking great and smelling clean!
