Stop the Shower Curtain Smother!

Imagine: You’re in the middle of a good lather up, with your eyes closed as you wash your face, and the warm water is pooring down  your body.  Then you feel it.  Slowly your shower curtain begins to creep up on your legs, sticking to your ankles and eventually, if you let it, to your whole body.  Finally, your encased with vinly that hasn’t been cleaned in a few weeks and has traces of soap scum and even mold around the edges where it clings to your body.  We like to call this experience: “The Shower Curtain Smother.”

If you’re like me, this is your worst nightmare and most annoying experience in the shower.  Rather than your shower experience being a relief from your day, it’s one more stressor you deal with.  Below are several tips to help you lessen the likelihood of the shower curtain smother.

  • Open a window to give your bathroom’s hot air a place to escape.
  • Slow down the water flow from your shower head.
  • Switch on the bathroom ceiling fan.
  • Cut back on your hot water usage.
  • Purchase a curtain with weights or magnets at the bottom to weigh the curtain down.
