So I am still visiting some friends out in Seattle and today happens to be a record breaking high of 102 degrees.  With no air conditioners (because normally you only have a month of warm weather here) one can only look to cool drinks such as Country Time Lemonade for solace.

As I was thinking about how much I loved the famous thirst quencher, I thought about how sweet a country time shower curtain would be.

Without having air conditioning, there is nothing like a cool shower at the end of the humid day…

…but what about a shower with a lemon printed shower curtain?

Sounds like bliss to me!

Some other ideas to get your tastebuds watering is to decorate your bathroom in the color yellow, or lime green!  Look to the citrus fruits for your color inspiration!

If you are a horse fan and would love to pay homage to the wonderful creatures, then using a horse shower curtain in your bathroom would be the perfect way.  Horse shower curtains can also be a great way to incorporate the County or Western theme previously discussed in one of our early posts, depending on the type of shower curtain purchased.  The following curtain could be an example of one that could also be considered a Western shower curtain because of it’s deep rich colors and landscape background.
On the other hand, if you’d rather focus on a Country theme, as previously noted, look for more pattered shower curtains and try to incorporate horses in your bathroom in some other way.  This unique shower curtain (see below) is quilted, contains derby scenery, and could easily fit into a county themed bathroom.  If you work quickly, and stick to the simple essentials, like a horse shower curtain, you can have your home completely ready for you friends and your Derby Party.

Country Shower Curtains:

  • use quilt patterns and textures as an inspiration.
  • fabric shower curtain with a pattern
  • create a sense of warmth and coziness with neutral and harvest color scheme.  Reds and browns are popular.
  • go for a rustic or antique look
  • country decorating is a compilation cherished items, new and found, and simply using colors and things that you love.  Each piece should look like it has a story to tell.

 

Western Shower Curtains:

  • think of old western films, with cowboys and indians, as inspiration
  • brighter colors, including greens and shades of turquoise
  • indian patterns could work
  • plastic/vinyl shower curtains could look better.  
  • shower curtain rings could match with horses, stars, or cowboy boots.
  • have fun and don’t be afraid of taking it back to the old wild, wild west!

Though they sound very similar, they are each very unique.  If your home is already warm and cozy in the traditional country style, then a country shower curtain will suit you well.  If you have a western influence throughout your home, (think cowboys and indians) then a western shower curtain will top off your home decor.  Happy decorating!
