“I have to make sure everything coordinates!”  ”I have to know what’s in style so I’m not behind the times.”  ”I need to get the right textures and patterns mixed to create the vibe I”m going for!”

All of this is well and good but it can be just plain stressful and unnecessary once you begin to feel overwhelmed. “Less is more,” right?

Consider the many unique shower curtains we have to choose from! Some of my favorites include the novelty shower curtains of the Kontextur sort.

I love this because it is unique and simple, leaving room for the mind to wander, fill in gaps, and for you to be free in your accessorizing! No pressure to coordinate, match, mix-and-match, or whatever. It’s easy for simplicity to make your bathroom design and shower curtain to feel luxurious! One simple touch can give you the designer look without the stress.

But the silver (shower curtain) lining to that cloud is–surprise, surprise–my shower. The cold, cold water in the heat of the summer is nothing short of refreshing and fabulous. Now my roommate and I have different tastes when it comes to decorating, but we can agree that, because our bathroom walls came lime green, there’s no use in adjusting the bathroom to our tastes, but we adjust our tastes to the bathroom. There’s talk of embroidered shower curtains to balance the bold green with some elegance; or perhaps the ever-tasteful tropical shower curtain. Sometimes we let our minds get carried away into the land of polka-dot shower curtains. I mean really, who’s to argue?!

When it comes to shower curtains, no rules, just right.

In the classic bathroom she decided upon a Laura Ashley shower curtain that is elegant, yet modern.  She says “the shower curtain sets the tone for the rest of the room”.  So the rest of the bathroom is decorated with monochromatic sink accessories, rugs and towels.  It’s the guest bathroom so it doesn’t guest used as much as the upstairs bathroom.

The upstairs bathroom, used for the kids as well is what she described as “fun”.  In this bathroom she says her Spongebob shower curtain is the focal point, and that there is nothing really matchy about the rest of it.  The accessories from a collection at Target, but towels are just random ones she has collected over the years.  She says the shower curtain makes it feel like it’s just a kids bathroom, but really its her and her husbands’ personal style. 

I was excited to hear my friend’s thoughts of such a seemingly meaningless topic, but here at My Unique Shower Curtains Blog, we value her opinion.  Shower curtain design, trends,  and maintenance is our passion and we would love to hear how your shower curtain impacts your home too!

A variety of topics are covered, from Spanish to World Geography.  I particularly liked this chemistry shower curtain – a giant periodic table!  I even found a fun, educational shower curtain for younger children.  It’s a vinyl, dinosaur shower curtain that includes pictures and names of several dinosaurs.  This seems like a fun way to get the entire family involved in continuing to learn.  After all, we probably spend at least 30 minutes in our bathroom everyday.  Instead of reading a magazine, why not read your shower curtain?!
