Depending on where you live, you may have heard about the earthquake that hit Washington D.C. on Wednesday. Being from the Midwest, we don’t experience much in the way of extreme natural disasters; I consider this extremely lucky. Many people in here Cincinnati, Ohio felt a quick bout of the after-shock, describing it as something similar to the sensation of being on a boat, rocking in the waves; feeling nauseous or off-balance.

Crazy!

I hope that none of you were in the shower during this occurrence; I can only imagine it would be disastrous.

Ok, so I haven’t exactly been on top of the Harry Potter craze, but I definitely love him and the series. Admittedly I haven’t read past book 5 and I haven’t seen any of the final film– part 1 or part 2. But! Harry Potter has been a great marker of my childhood and teenage years, even bleeding into my young-adulthood. Though I’m not at the top of the fanatic list, I still feel a certain nostalgia and sadness flood over me at the blaring reality of the end of an era.

Sigh.

At least I could get a custom shower curtain to keep the Harry Potter memories alive.

As I’m sure you have already heard, unless you were living in a cave like Osama Bin Laden, that he was taken down last night by the U.S. military. Although the entire context of the story is ugly and depressing at times, this is definitely a highlight for America. The strongest feeling is that it just reminds me that we live in a great country that gives us freedom and capitalism.
