As a little girl, I loved horses. I mean, loved them. Alas, I grew up smack in the middle of the city with no nearby stables. For years I settled for summer horse camp and Breyer horses. Occasionally, too, I would pretend the bike I was riding was a horse. But that’s another story.

Who knew my dreams could infiltrate more of my life by having a horse shower curtain? I definitely didn’t. That’s why I’m here; to pass on the wisdom so more little girls and boys can dream about their lives side-by-side with their very own horse. Any awesome parent would want their kid to be happy. Right?

We have many unique shower curtains; all of which make dreams come true.

With the price of oil these days it really makes a person double check each time they go out on the road. My mind takes me back and wonders how it must have been in the good ol’ days of John Wayne when the majority of travel was on horseback or something equivalent.

We actually have some western shower curtains in our store if that has struck a chord with you. Now when I say western I mean not the western part of the world we are in but the meaning of western as in the frontier, True Grit type of stuff. Spring has sprung so I know some of you may be in the beach type of mode, which is why there are also Hawaiian shower curtains available as well.

There are places in life that can really become mundane and boring after awhile. Some of these you cannot control, but there are some you can! The bathroom is not always exciting, but with an overhaul in the decor in can turn into a paradise! As we approach the holiday season it is appropriate to look around the world and count our blessings. Our western culture (not the kind displayed in our western shower curtains) is representative of many different types of people. Even though poverty exists in America, as whole we have reason to be very thankful, especially when considering our friends in third world countries.

From The Duke to Clint Eastwood a well timed Western movie is good for the soul. For some it goes way beyond that into a passion. I have visited the actual site of Tombstone and it was pretty interesting. If you share this interest or are looking to mix up your style, a western shower curtain is your answer.

Edna Harper, an American Indian Artist, is now letting her western New Mexico upbringing influence bathroom design. Being one of six daughters and letting the scenery of her ranch inspire her, Edna started creating oils, pastels, watercolors, and pencil drawings at a young age. Now, a master craftsman of silversmithing and jewelery , her works are making thier way around the country.

Her simplistic creations are nostalgic of her childhood and are authentic representations of cowboys, horses and beautiful mountain vistas; all encompassing a southwestern style that is becoming the latest trend in interior design.

For your southwestern bathroom, add a horse shower curtain with a print created by this famous artist to add a personal touch. Western shower curtains with turqouise and clay colored patterns could also achieve the same results.

Horse Shower Curtain Revisited

With the first week of May came the Run for the Roses, and last weekend the final Triple Crown Race was held at the Belmont Stakes. Altough the Triple Crown title was once again elusive to horse owners and jockeys, a horse shower curtain does not need to be elusive to your bathroom. We began the topic of decorating your bathroom with equine elegance before the first leg of the triple crown, and in another previous post, Mark made a great suggestion for these curtains to be your next Father’s Day gift. Also, remember that these can play double duty: your equine curtain can also pass as a Western shower curtain if that is the theme of your bathroom.

The Belmont Stakes inspired me to check out what other shower curtains with horse designs may be available to the interested decorator. Below are some of my favorite finds. Hope you find one that interests you.

This curtain reminds me of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring when Arwen crosses the river in desperation to save Frodo from the Ringwraiths.

This is my favorite Western Shower Curtain of all time. I especially like that it is a black-and-white shower curtain with a captivating image.
