I recently went to a party at a friends art gallery. As a creative myself, I figured Id be at home but I quickly came to realize the difference between modern styles and what I consider to be a unique or perhaps the better word is crafty style.
The modern style is slick. Simple, with an eastern influence, the lines are flat, straight, geometrical. Minimalism speaks volume, balance is critical, every element is deeply considered and very important. I’m a big fan of the modern style and all the swag that comes with, and I specifically like the modern shower curtains.
However, I am not a modernist. With my head full of dread locks, and my need to question everything I am definitely post-modern in almost all regard. I appreciate the modern design but live in the world of functional. My husband and I joke that we would be best to live in a heated barn where we could build and create all day without limitations of space of cleanliness (but I must admit, I am kind of a clean freak).
